    Hey,

My 206 is in for it NCT in a few weeks time. I had a lil incident a about a year and a half ago which put a couple of cracks in the bumper and I'm just wondering if they will fail me on it. I've looked online and some people say it will pass with cracks and some say it wont. so heres a couple of pics and I'd appreciate your advice :) Thanks

I wouldn't say it will...they look a little too jagged to pass.

    1 is a fail, 2 may pass.

My guess is that it is unlikely, jagged edges are a danger to the public. Also remember to take your hubcaps off, i didnt and had to return the following week.

Thanks guys...get I'm on the look for a new bumper so think it would probably be just as cheap to get a second hand on as it would be to get this one repaired. so if ye know anyone with a 206 rear bumper for a 2001 let me know, preferably in the blue colour to save me getting it sprayed. :)

If you want to spare cash and are only concerned about passing the test, get good strong tape and put it over the cracks. Try to pull the cracks together as much as possible with the tape too. It will pass that way. You would need a tape that was about 3 inches wide.

it seems to be the rear bumper what safety issues arise unless you hit some one going in reverse but have to say the look bad alright but that toe hook would do more damage than a cracked bumper and that legal

Anything with a sharp edge will fail, regardless of how minor usually.
So as advised by mickdw, some tape should do the trick for the test.

Do ye really think some tap would work?? I might be selling the car this summer but right now money is tight and if i don't need to do something to it then I'd prefer to wait a couple of months.

someone rear ended me in december in the snow, did much worse damage than that i think, 2 huge jagged cracks and a hole about the size of a golf ball

got the bumper fixed in carmedic http://www.carmedic.ie/index.php €250, they also touched up some self inflicted "speed grooves" on the front bumper

if your interested i can post before and after pics..

You could get them plastic welded. It won't look the best but it'd be a cheap fix.

Ah I meant it'd be a cheap fix without getting it resprayed, sorting the paint as well should have it looking as good as new if done properly.

no chance of passing but stick some heavy insulating tape on it and they'll pass any bumper cracks as long as the bumper isn't collapsing.

crazy I know but my cousin got her polo thru by doing this and her bumper was in tatters
