Thick Lenses

    Hi
I have quite thick lenses as I am very long sighted. Unfortunately I can't get lazer treatment/contact lenses due to an unusual eye condition so I am looking to get my lenses reduced/thinned as much as possible. I would travel to get best results but I wonder if anyone with this problem has had any good experiences with opticians in Ireland or Britain

It depends on your prescription and if it is straight forward short sightedness
1.74 high index lenses can be expensive but are well worth it.
They are reasonable in specsavers,vision2you.co.uk are also reasonable for them and I have had a good experience.
You might be a lot blinder then me though.

With long sighted prescriptions 1.74 index lenses can be very expensive as usually they have to be made for the customer. There are cheaper alternatives tho. Choosing a small frame means you can get what termed reduced diameter lenses. Jai kudo do a high index (1.59) reduced diameter lens with a good quality antiglare. Ask a independant Optician store about backsurfaced stayclean from Jai Kudo
