World War CoD games- Single Player

My internet ain't doing what it should lately, so I can't play Live on Black Ops with my mates. So instead, I got stuck into the single player experience. Now, I had had already beaten through it, but I didn't really pay it a whole lot of attention. So without no multiplayer option available to me, I decided to go gunning to Hardened and Veteran mode achievements, and really enjoyed it. So after I was done with that, I picked up CoD4- Modern Warfare, and I've just finished the single player in that tonight (although, I'll be returning to it for the hard achievements soon enough)

So basically, I'm wondering if the earlier CoD games, the ones based around WWII would be worth picking up for the single player campaign. Taking for granted that I won't be playing multiplayer (at least not for a while) are they as much fun as the comtempary ones?

Cod5 waw is ww2 game. Campaign wise its Russians and US marines (pacific front) you are playing as. IMO it's a great game, great graphics and good single player.

Cod2 is also a very good game, But is only available on XB360. in campaign you play as Russians, British and Americans on all European
fronts. While it's a great game there are a few drawbacks. As above it's only on XB360 which shouldn't be a problem if that's the console you play on . Graphic will not be as good as good as the modern reliase cod games . In this game sprinting had not been brought in and you will find it odd not being
    able to sprint

There is also Cod3 which is based in the European campaign with a contribution from near all allied forces. From polish tank crews to French resistance. Again another great sp game imho.

Hope this helps and any questions on the games I'll be more than happy to answer for you :)

WAW is well worth a play, the single player is better than Black Ops imo, it ties into it too as Reznov is in it

Great stuff, lads. Cheers for the info. I reckon I'll give the WaW one a spin next then. Oh, and yes, I've been playing them on 360, so no problems with the exclusives there :) I'll work my way backwards through the series from there. Sooner or later, I'll pick up MW2 aswell, but it's a little too expensive for my liking at the moment (and I don't really believe in buying online) even second hand.

if theres a Currys nearby they have MW2 new for 14.99 at the mo. Try pc world as well, same company so usually have similar prices.

online buying ftw btw, zavvi.com has amazing prices on games at times, I bought Vanquish for 16 quid when it was still 39.99 in shops here. got the bioshock 2 limited edition on there for 20 bucks as well, gamestop price? 80 euro  delivery is quick and never had a problem with them

I was actually looking all over Galway for Vanquish a few days ago, with no joy. Found it to be a bit strange that nowhere had it in stock.
Yeah, I think I know where there's a Currys locally, I'll hunt there for MW2. I gave it a quick playthrough before but wouldn't mind getting proper stuck into that one. I'll defo have a lookout for WaW too. Got to have a quick go of it today, and defo wouldn't mind picking it up.
