3rd one, or wait for 1 of the first two to come out.

    This one......maybe.

I don't see the Toshiba one for sale anywhere. The HP one is the better in your selection.

Also, you could (probably) buy an external Blu-ray reader/writer cheaper off amazon rather than limiting your choice now looking for a lappy with one built in.

What are you planning to do with the Laptop? There powerful.

Was planning on getting a desktop at first but I think a laptop will now suit my needs.

Gaming, Visual studio, Arc GIS, Photo editor, AutoCad. Something less might do but I dont mind going for extra performance if I can get it at a reasonable price. Laptops not as easy to upgrade as desktops so im keeping that in mind also. Sony Vaio you suguested is a fabulous looking laptop. I dont like the look of the Asus one. Are Samsungs a good Laptop make?

The 18'' screen would be the only thing I have against this laptop. A way too big when I could just hook it up to my HDTV. Laptop size is too big. So that is out of the equation now unless they make one with a smaller screen i.e 14-15''?
