Trying to trace my Great Grandfathers War of Independence Records

Hi Folks, Found a certificte from the defence fores dated 1954 stating that my great grandfather participated in the war of indepence. Just wondering if anyone knows how easy it would be for me to track down his records. I'd be happy just knowing what his company did. Thanks

Give Military Archives a ring. They deal with all these queries.

Check this link out www.military.ie/dfhq/archives/service.htm

Have a look around the archives section on military.ie there is a bit of info there.

Include as much information as you can, it means the info return will be complete and quicker.
