So if you go to the man's (using that word lightly) website his lovely mush is there in all it's glory... But under the picture he has "Independent Fianna Fail".

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't profess to know a lot about politics, but how the **** can you be an independent and a [insert name of party]? (or am I the stupid one and this is indeed possible?).

    Sincerely,

    Ugly Bollox Face

His support base is confined almost totally to his local constituency, and even then they wouldn't all vote for him. He might be able to pick up the bog vote in other parts, but not enough to win. Thank feck.

But how does that explain the apparent oxymoron of "independent fianna fail"?

    Isn't it unbelievable.

Imagine the ridicule this country would be subjected to if he, for some mad reason, was elected President of Ireland?

Healy-Rae was FF, a councillor for them, director of elections, etc.

He got pissed off coz they din't nominate him to contest a Dáil seat, and ran as an "independent".

The IFF tag is basically meant to tell people he is from the proud FF heritage (yeah, I know! >_>) but not running for the party.

JHR was a life long FFer and acted as director of elections in S-Kerry and numerous bi-elections around the country for 30+ years and elected as a FF councillor. He left the party when they refused to nominate him for the dail elections and so he declared himself as a independent canidate but would be running with the same principles as he had as a FFer. I think Neil blaney did the same in Donegal. ie I am still basically a believer in the aims and asperations of a member of FF but they will not let me run for election under the party banner.

So a FF voter could still vote for JGR without burning in hell:D

Possible groups that would vote for jackie:
1.Young people 18-25, this is how he got in as a TD first.
    2. People who wanna say "**** you" to the supposedly educated political classes.
3.Hugh vote all over kerry and west cork.
4.People from areas like N Tipp who are pissed with the coverage they got lately.
    5. People over 25 who would love to see jackie get in, just for the crack.

He has never lost an election and wouldn't bother his ass if he tought he didn't have a chance, also they (jackie and sons) know that they would be getting a, take the piss/**** you vote, but it doesn't bother them.

    Well UBF,
'Independent Fianna Fail' has kinda always been around. They're all over the place, its not a party, its just a term.
They are FF leaning people at heart but for single issues, or political disgrace, or just to save their seat for the next election, they had to leave the official FF party.

Call JHR a 'stupid bogger' at your peril, the man could buy and sell you in front of your eyes and you wouldn't even know it. I wouldn't underestimate him, there is the traditional persona, but that's just a front, that man knows Irish politics as well as anyone.

It does cos 80 year old men do not go around buying or selling anybody, they have enough to do to just get by.

I fixed that for you, why do you reckon i'm igorant of Irish politics?
Your ignorance of older people isin't normal, cos normal would be thinking that any man/woman will not be as able bodied when they're in their 80's as when they are young or middle aged.

Whats all this about categories of sheep, as in, what the hell is going on in your head?
