Saving in the Post Office

So I don't really care about the bank bailouts, I'm already lower class, I've never had savings in a bank, there is nothing for me to inherit and the only issue I have with the banks is a credit card bill that isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

But I do have some savings in the post office... how would that be affected by the banks crashing?

    The banks won't "crash".

If Ireland defaults you'll be dependent on the Irish government repaying your money. So you'll be in the same boat as bank depositors.
