Have Whirlpool MA20 Washing Machine - Need Help

So I have a Whirlpool MA 20 Washing Machine and I don't think its getting enough water into it. The clothes are not damp enough when they come out. Some are wet and others are "nearly dry".

I have taken off the lower front panel. There is nothing behind it. No filter or anything. I have felt around the inside of the door and there is only a seal. I have taken off both the hot and cold connections and there was only a tiny bit of "gravel" against the gauze/filter. Ran two more loads and same thing again "not damp enough".

I took off the back of the unit which was a very small plastic thing at the bottom and all I can see really is the waste outlet and a plastic cover. Under this appears to be the waste pump. Short of getting out the tool box and dismantling the entire stainless steel backing/calling a domestic appliance guy what can I do?

    Buy a new appliance replies.......................no

Pull the tubes off the pressure switch and see if more water enters machine
