Why are some people so afraid of germs?

    I was reading the other thread about the girl who threw out meat after butcher touched it with their hands having held money...

    Got me thinking about how ****ing retarded it is to be so freakishly clean. Don't get me wrong, if you curl one out and then pick up a sandwich then you're sick because you've just crapped.

    But the whole always washing hands etc or commenting on how 'germy' things might be is silly!

    My girlfriend is like this. Anytime she makes me a sandwich I have to wash my hands. I'm in the middle of COD woman!! :mad::mad::mad:

    Whilst I think many people are bit OTT about germs (nearly every cleaning product being anti-bacterial), many illnesses are community-associated i.e. spread in the community.

    I'm a bit of a germ phobe myself but I'm also a feckless lazy-arse. As you can imagine the two don't go together so well so while my intensions are good my actions are rather lacking :p.
