Why are NUIG hanging on to our grant money

According to NUIG they will not be paying out the third installment of the grant until after Easter.

Yet my County Council sent the cheques to NUIG this Tuesday

A four week delay! Whats going on here?

Not good enough. Why are they hanging onto our money?

How are we supposed to survive in the meantime?

It usually means the grant authority hasn't actually sent them out yet, they are usually late with these things?

Easter is very late this year though. Mayo County Council told me they are sending it out to the colleges this week, I'd hope that the college gives it out as soon as they get it.

Hi, which County Council stated that they had sent the third installment grant cheques to the university?

Maybe they're using it to cover their losses after the SAF screw up..

Clare County Council sent it to NUIG last Tuesday.

What possible excuse can NUIG have for holding on to our money until after Easter.

Have they any concept at all of how stuck students are for our money?

Go to the students union with this. Mines not in yet but if they try and hold onto it then I won't be slow in complaining.

Suggest you verify that they have not received it with your grant awarding body :-).

They seem to be giving this blanket "not received yet" answer to all callers to the office.

i think there must a problem with the site...the "Last Updated" is varying between Tuesday 29th March and Monday 4th April.

I received this email from the grants department:

We are, at present, receiving grant cheques from the different county councils. Our website is having some problems this morning but if you wish to check later you can see if your Co Co has been sent.

So it sounds like the "Grant Checks after easter" statement on their website is incorrect..It seems to be popping on and off every now and again.

According to the website Limerick Co.Co was not in but it had not been updated since yesterday  So I rang them to make sure and they said they were not in.

I was in the college a while ago so I said I'd chance it. Went in and they handed me the cheque  and on the website right now it still doesn't have Limerick up and it has been updated today!

So ignore the website and what they tell you on the phone and go in yourself and ask ;)

At the moment, it looks like Donegal, Roscommon, Laois and Dublin are the only ones missing. Was just down at the fees office, the lady in there said the Donegal one will be definitely Monday at the latest.

Hey lads, I just got word yesterday from Kildare Co Co that I was approved for my grant (which I applied for in August!), when am I likely to get my suitcase of cash?
