    Hi guys,

I just bought a 08 Mondeo Ztec, great car, but my question is about the radio.

Does it play MP3's?? and what's the story with the AUX cable for the Ipod, the slot is in the glove box, is the cable expensive??

    Cheers.

EDIT: the radio is the Ford 6000 model.

is it not just a normal 3.5mm male to male stereo connection?

I'm not sure to be honest.

    I believe it is..

connection will look exactly like the headphone jack at the top of yer ipod. If so, the cable is as per my previous post (previous owner prob 'alf inched it)

problem may be if you have the radio, but the glovebox isnt wired for the connection.. but shouldnt be the case for the zetec

not sure I get what you're asking, so Im gonna guess playing an MP3 CD? :) Unfort Ive no idea..! Radios that do, generally have 'mp3' or 'mp3cd' (or the like), on the front of them if that helps

Get a 3.5 mm cable, Tesco do them cheap, then you can play your iPod via the AUX button on the stereo.

I've the same car in the family...it does play MP3's through iPods/iPhones/MP3 CD's etc.

Yep agreed. 3.5mm male to male lead required for AUX input.

Thanks for the replies guys, I got the cable and the Ipod seems fine, I don't think the radio plays MP3's though, thought it would seeing as it's a fairly new car.

You realise the songs on your iPod are MP3 right...unless you convert all of your songs to AAC?

And MP3 does work...worked for me the last 3 years since we bought the car?

I know but I think I read somewhere that a newer model came out in March 08, that had the MP3 function.
