Bale and Gallas missing, Seba,Daws,Charlie and BAE as the back 4, a clean sheet would be nice to start with. COYS

Have to win this. If we lose, we hand the impetus back to City and if they win, we'll be 8 points behind with a game in hand, which will be too much to claw back before the season ends. Defoe has to get his act together.

As above, we win tomorrow or we can pretty much kiss our season goodbye. They are bottom of the league, and a pretty awful team, so there's absolutely no excuse.

3 points are a must in this game. I fancy Sunderland to get a draw at City so we have a great chance to close the gap.

    Possible team:

    Gomes
    Charlie - Dawson - Bassong - BAE
    Lennon - Modric - Palacios - Kranjcar
    VDV - Defoe.

I think Wigan play 3 in the middle so maybe we put Modric on the left and start Jenas or Sandro instead of Niko, with Modric playing narrow to stop us being overrun in midfield.

Blatant lack of width, Modric and VDV look to come inside all the time, Wigan are getting down the flanks to easily...

Blatant hand ball there.... thank god cause Bassong was caught in no mans land.

    No width whatsoever.

Now a race for 5th I'm afraid lads. I had hoped we'd be in with a shout at the end of April but it's gonna take a meltdown from another team, a miracle run or winning te CL.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

its easy to see that the most likely situation now is that we will be knocked out by madrid and finish 5th or even 6th in the league. thursday nights for us next season lads, against european teams we have never heard of ;-)

possibility of modric and bale leaving as well during the summer

What a load of sh*te, one good result against milan is masking how poor we really are. So hard to watch these days, disgusting football.

Really poor result. If anything I think it will spur me on to enjoy the CL games even more!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

Question is; how did Niko piss off Harry so much that he'd rather shove VDV to the wing and play Jenas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,395 ✭✭✭Hatch99

Another dismal result in the league. 3 points behind city with 8 games to go. We have to go to city, and both of us have some very tough games left, we are up against it, but we are not completely out of it just yet.

hate to say it but, we lost our CL place today.
a win kept the hope alive but too big a hill to climb now.
will hate to see city go through,

I still think we could scrape through, we will need help from Sunderland though! draw tomorrow or better still, an away win!

Not looking good for us at Eastlands today,so far anyway.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

With City playing like that, we've got absolutely no chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 475 ✭✭ruiseal

Looks like it's a case of trying to hold on to 5th place now! :(

The team is a bit disorientated at the moment... Dropping 9pts in four games, had we taken those nine we'd be level with the gooners.

4th very much still up for grabs, Man City to play and a game in hand.. COYS!
