    Assuming it grips the saddle adequately, and allows the saddle to be tilted to your preferred angle, then I don't see why not. The small selection of saddles available for it though would make me think twice - if those saddles just didn't suit you then you are stuck with a useless seat post.

    I saw a relatively new version of the same idea, the Selle Italia monorail reviewed recently, in Bike Radar/Cycling Plus I think. It got a good review as far as I can remember but again the limitation is that few saddles, and possibly only one, will work with that system. So unless weight saving is very important to you it may not be worth the risk of spending the money on it.
