Walker TVs = Rebadged ????

Sorry if this is a silly question but seeing as Walker STBs are commonly acknowledged as rebadged vestels, would anyone know what the alternate brand names for the Walker saorview compatible TVs would be?

I'm asking because i'm looking at perhaps getting a 16" or 19" tv for a kitchen and because of the location (grease & steam from cooking being a factor) I'm not keen on spending much. I know that the 16" walker starts at €125 but if i figure it's worth checking if it is available under another brand name (cheaper) elsewhere.

    Anyone know?

(Also, i'm putting this here rather than Displays and Projectors because the saorview compatibility that is very important to me in the purchase:))

Depends what you mean by 'compatible'; you won't get any certified sets cheaper.

I'm not worried about certification to be honest. I was just wondering what these sets might be called and sold as from different manufacturers.

I believe they are branded under a number of names which use the same chassis one being Luxor/Salora.

But different labels with same Vestel chassis don't have same software. If it's not Certified you are guessing.

The Walker and the Luxor identical models have the same software as I have compared them both and that's a fact mate.

But that is not always the case, and something that should be considered.

Anyway, Nordmende is another "brand" using the Vestel chassis and is Saorview approved.

Walker (also trades under "Finlux"), Nordmende and some of the lower end Toshiba's use a Vestel chassis in some or all of their range.
