    Gimp

It's a free program that's similiar to Photoshop, should cover what you need. I'm so used to Photoshop though it took me a small while to adjust to it when I needed a quick editing software at work :pac:

Trial versions of Photoshop are fully functional, but as above it might be easier to use a free alternative if you are going to invest some time learning how to use it.

    Trial -

    Free - Paint.NET

The Gimp is awesome when you get to explore its capabilities. Lots of free community contributed plug ins and scripts.

Also, try the online http://www.photoshop.com/ << free, however read the small print - i seem to recall some users being offended by the terms & conditions making sounding towards having rights to resultant work undertaken in it.

I also like pixelr and thumba.net.

Paint.net as has been mentioned above regularly gets recommended.

And for more basic stuff Picasa will do the job. Its also good for quickly finding pictures on your computer.

student version of photoshop is the same as the "normal" version and is several hundred euro cheaper.... I think I paid €850 for my copy of photoshop CS2 when it came out and have purchased the upgrade to CS5 recently for about €250ish

Try getting and older version of photoshop

I got a fully legal version of cs3 for €400 from an irish Photography retailer at the start of last year.

What is this some sort of sick, twisted April Fools Joke ? Of course you can do it. Now quit your quitting talk and start again. It's easy once you get used to it. Why don't you check out PShop tutorials and similar on youtube if your stuck. Or trawl through this - http://www.google.ie/#hl=en&source=hp&biw=1280&bih=570&q=photoshop+tutorials&aq=0&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=photoshop+t&fp=53ff07e42adb6197

OP, what exactly are you trying to do with the image(s)? I'm sure someone on here can point you in the right direction...
