In what will come as a huge shock to snooker fans around the world, not one but two top stars have just announced their retirement from professional snooker.

O'Sullivan in a press conference in London this morning read a statement in which he intended to retire from the sport with immediate effect, his opponent in the world championships Domonic Dale will recieve a walk over!

Hendry announced his retirement to the press before boarding a flight back to the UK in the wake of his dismal defeat to Ding Junhui.
Hendry however will compete in Sheffield but will retire after.
