Any thoughts on their Dyno? I got my 8 series dyno'd there before, all good and got a solid number. Problem is, people online are saying either Im full of it or they are, they dont believe the result (car is 18years old afterall).
I have since made further modifications to the car in an attempt to get an even higher figure so I cant really go around to do a compare and contrast with other dynos (nor do I feel I want to).
What I do know is that before I had completed all the maintenance work (about 3/4 way through) with partially blocked Cat(s) I got 350bhp in Couture. When it was all running well (correct plugs, de-cat etc) I got 391 in Urban. Stock is 380 at crank.

Ive now changed Fuel Injectors and made some Airbox mods.. once I get the fueling a bit more accurate (actually over fueling now) I want to do another dyno run, but I need to know Urban is accurate or it will make a balls of my progress so far (ie what improved performance what didnt).

It's a fairly accurate dyne from my experience. Any time I've changed anything on my car the power changes accordingly (including a 4th gain after changing the exhaust back to standard). Onkle has had his car tuned on it too and it's always been bang on

From what I've heard it's the best (and least bull****ty) dyno around

I thought the real epic battle was Mick trying to get the Octavia onto the dyno :P

Not happy with my result though :(

Ok good to hear. I guess I have upset some of the BMW forum guys by not spending big bucks but getting really good dyno results. :D

Do your research, read the Manuel and give it a go.

Id offer to do it but ill risk blowing up my car but not one I don't own. :D

every dyno gives different numbers. the way i look at it figures are only for bragging rights anyway the only thing thats important is how the car actually goes

Would them dyno machines need to be recalibrated every now and again?

I must ask that tomorrow but for each run the car is tachoed, basically it's brought to a certain rpm in the gear it's going to be ran in and the speed the car is doing is entered into the computer so to my mind it's more or less calibrated before each run. I'm not the expert on these things and I'm still learning the ins and outs of the dyno so I'll have an answer to that tomorrow for ya

We were there yesterday, there were cars on the Dyno though so sometimes we can't hear the phone. Closed today due to flooding and we couldn't get out of where we live. I'll drop you a PM with my mobile :)
