I have a 07 A class Merc. 1.5 petrol. What are my options to make a more economical car? Diesel engine? Gas? Its very fresh and I cant sell it cos its not getting anywhere near its value! Any suggestions??
    Cheers in advance.

Unfortunatly its value, like all cars these days, is what people are willing to pay for it, not what owners think they worth.

With regards to making it more economical, changing the engine would be pointlessly expensive, i.e, alot more then you would loose by selling it.

Your only option IMO is to change driving style so as to gain the maximum economy available from the car.

Unless there is something wrong with the car then the generally slow moving, low rpm etc useage of driving instruction would use very little fuel. There would be cars that would be better, small diesel etc but, the merc would be far from a guzzler.

Its not great fuelwise at all. Would prefer a small diesel but would have to move this first!
