I have a very old, large stone shed in my back garden which is in the way of a planned extension. I intend to knock it. Can I sell the slate/stone and if so, how much should I ask? Alternatively, do you think I could offer materials for free if someone will come and knock it and take it all away?

If you can find someone to buy it, you can sell it. Do you have any pic?

No I don't have a pic, why- I can take one.

The reason I asked is that about 15 years ago I built a house that was entirely clad in stone and when I was trying to source the stone I was offered stone from some old outbuildings if I could take it myself and pay for it. I wanted to buy it but in the end the guy who owned them decided against it.

There are architectural salvage firms out there, but as you may be aware, there is not much demand for building materials at the moment, so any prices you are offered will be low!
I doubt that you will be able to get someone to come and knock it for free for salvage rights.
    EG,
Slates to be removed by hand - need to erect scaffold, sort slates according to size, condition then crated and wrapped. Then need lifting truck to remove crates.
Remove roof timbers etc, - probably straight to skip.
    Remove Scaffold.
Demolish walls with machine, cart away in truck and then sort good from bad.
Etc, etc. Not gonna be a freebie!

Buy and Sell has alot of ads were people are looking for natural slate and are willing to remove slates etc. free of cost if they can have them

Thanks for the replies. Also access is difficult- no truck is going to get in there. Looks like that's a no go. Worth a try though!:)
