Pyrite fun....

    Morning all....
Just at the beginning of the Pyrite process... Have had the engineer out with his spirit level and he has confirmed that our house is tilting, and he all but confirmed that there was pyrite under the floor, like most of the rest of the houses he has seen in our estate.

We have the added joy that both the Developer/builder and the quarry have gone out of business, and it looks like that Homebond are going to be our only recourse. Some of our neighbours are further down the road in the process, and Homebond have made a paltry offer as full remediation...it was less than what it would cost to get a proper survey/testing done...

I can't think of too many people who have 50k spare in their back pockets for emergencies these days ( well, legally anyway ). It's seems that its always the little guy who gets shafted in this country. Has anyone got any advice...seems like a lot of people are sinking money into fees that may or may not produce any results. But if anyone has any positive stories/advice to add, please feel free. Surely this issue is too big for the politicians to ignore or just pay lip service to???
