Thinking about buying a Levin BZR. Looking for advice.

My current car doesn't offer much in the way of fun, so i've been saving a bit and am highly interested in a BZR for my next car.

I'm looking around to see what people think of these types of cars, their typical price range for a well looked after one, and their comparison to other, similar-sized cars.

Any thoughts or points would be greatly apreciated on this. Cheers.

Best advice I can give you is to sign up to clubae111.com. Pretty much everything you could need to know about AE111's is on there.

Schweet. Cheers for the link. Didn't know such a site existed.. Is that your Levin in your sig? Looks damn nice.

Personally, I've never understood the attraction. They're fairly crap looking, they're practiacally all driven to crap, they're over priced and most real enthusiasts will tell you that Toyota's 160bhp claim is very optimistic.
If I were you, I'd look towards a Celica T-Sport. A real 189bhp, infinitely better looking especially in the right colour, as good if not a little better handling, and actually cheaper and easier to find a clean one.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, I suppose. Any particular model of the T-sport you recommend? I know I don't like the 2000+ model.. Always looked kinda feminine to me. -_-

There's only one model T-Sport Celica. Gen 7 Celica. The Levin is terrible looking. If it must be 1.6 then I'd be looking at a VTi, or a Pulsar VZR (N1 if you can find it), or even a Mivec Lancer or Colt, all of which have better engines.

I don't find any of those cars as attractive as a Levin, looks wise. ONe that's looked after looks mint.

Yep thats my Levin in the sig. Cheers for the compliment! Introduce yourself on the AE111 page and the lads on there will be able to tell you everything you need to know. Best of luck in your search!

@Tea-1000 each to their own and all that but I'd take a Levin over a Civic (unless its a very clean facelift EK9), or gen 7 Celica. Levins wouldnt have as much of a bad rep associated with them as Civics and look much better than your average Civic or Celica but thats just my own opinion.

Toyotas claimed 165bhp is indeed optimistic and your average blacktop will only be putting out somewhere in the 150-155bhp region. But good low end torque and nice close gear ratios mean that they're certainly not a slouch and a well looked after one should have no problem sticking with a VTi or SiR.
