Depression/Loneliness on facebook

Man imprisons his mother, threatens to kill her with an axe and forces her to watch movies with him

Can't paste for mobile users as most of it is facebook screenshots

I laughed at first as I am an immature twat but in the seriousness of it, that woman could have gotten killed, wouldn't have been so funny then.

But I've seen similar (Mind you, not near this extreme) emo crap on peoples status updates before and I've ended up blocking or ignoring them.

Depression and/or loneliness is a brutal thing, but it is hard to not just laugh something like this off when you're looking at it. Sometimes it may be an idea to do the right thing and reach out to someone like this.. Or alternatively get in touch with a persons sibling/parents and let them know what's going on, chances are the mother was completely unaware!

In any case, an interesting read for those who wish to feel sorry for/laugh at the poor chap.

So you see a guy who's going through severe depression and your first reaction is to laugh at him? Disgusting.

Someone reached out to a lonely guy once, it didn't turn out well

It is sad when it gets consequences like this and I wish that everyone would have great friends and a fulfilling life.
Unfortunately life isn't like this and kids these days are being filled with ideas and expectations from TV/films/magazines etc.

This of course while the majority of the young population on the planet are fighting questions like how to get the next meal and if they'll live to see 25.

Yeah.. reading the first 2 or 3 status updates I found it entertaining as I would any normal attention seeking whore.. Then when I got further in.. Well it's easy to see the difference between someone wanting attention and someone actually needing help.

This guy was in a bad way. Its hard too see how people end up this way when you've never been there, which thankfully I haven't. Difficult to understand why someone is like this, and how things can get that bad.
At least he didn't do what happens far too often in the US and go into his school with a gun. Is there something about US society that makes people do these things? Or is it just that other countries don't have the weapons?
(I'm assuming this guy was from the US)
