UPC Box Hissing

The UPC box is hissing in the background through the TV speakers. Can hear it when the the box is muted but not when the TV itself is muted. Is this a transmission issue or an issue with the box itself? Any help appreciated as its doing my nut!!!

first guess would be a connection issue somewhere in the back with your cabling. when i disconnected my sky box for room redecoration and reconnected it i didn't do something right with the cables and the blimmin thing was hissing at me the whole first nite (cos i was too lazy to get up and check the darn thing that night). i am not sure which cable was the culprit but i took them all out, checked they were infact in the right holes and made sure they were firmly in when i put them back and problem solved!
