    Hi Folks,

I have a TV (Sony KDL46w5740) that is hooked up to cable in central dublin city. The cable was never turned off after contract was terminated. on my tv remote there are analogue & Digital buttons to switch between the two types of input. When i switch over to digital on my tv, and do a tuning scan, i pick up all the radio stations, and RTE1, City channell and a few others, no rte 2, or tv3 etc. The tv is on the sticky list in this forum as being compatible. I just cant seem to get or tune in all the channels. Does anyone know why this is?

The only connection into my TV is through the cable.

    Its bugging me!!!

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Dermo!

No TV3 means no UHF aerial and maybe you are picking up an analogue cable channel off UPC not an aerial. Off to the €2 shop with you and get an aerial. Then retune after you point it to the south ( 3RocK) .

Digital yes, analogue no. Digital autocorrects for crappy picture unlike analogue with ghosting and snow. You may need a better aerial but should always get _something_ with the €2 model near a window pointing at Wickila unless you are at ground floor level.
