Harvey Norman have a roadshow in galway from sat 2nd to monday 11th

Some decent deals inc 1tb desktop drive €67 and JVC headphones €9

Might be worth a look if you are nearby and DID Electrical is in the same park if you want to compare prices.

Harvey Norman ROADSHOW? What the hell is that? I have heard they're paying through the snot for rent but are they seriously hitting the road to sell their wares?

smacks of desperation, with the millions they lose every year, dunno how they can keep going.

so is the logic, that if you buy something in a tent or marquee thingy you will get a better deal?

they already have a lot of retail space, now add the expense of running a roadshow.

its all about the marketing i suppose.

It's a tent about 20 meters from their own shop, and they doll it up with a couple of cardboard boxes to make it look like a warehouse clearance. Some things reduced but limited stock. I suppose its a way of getting people into their own store.

This has a thread in the Galway forum and up untill they released a flyer a couple of days ago, most people were assuming they were opening a REAL store here.
Sounds to me like they want the best of both worlds. Bricks and mortar prices without the backup customer service.
Its only around the corner from me, but I won't be going down there.
If they can't be bothered setting up a proper store with jobs for locals, they can stay where they are and not put local jobs in jeopardy.

Got a tabloid sized flyer about it.
    Front page offers include:
    "Oval" Coffee Table €48
3+2 Lounge Suite €999 "looks and feels like leather"

    I'm quite giddy with anticipation.

They seem to be going into the back of the park with mostly vacant lots so may have got it for very little.

999 is full retail price for a PU suite. thats not a deal at all. a 3+2 suite is on sale
near me for 799 and it looks nice, and its in a bricks and mortar shop.

true what "they" say, "fools and their money"

I saw this sale in Castlebar & they had a load of large LCD plasmas at what looked like excellent prices, i can give details as im not really into buying TVs.
Some odf the stuff was markes 'Sold as Seen', i dont know how this stand up legally for an established buisness, but the E9 JVC headphones are decent, i have them banging out some tunes right now
