Hello just have a quick question about my CV. I am only in my current job 4 weeks but I am still looking for new jobs. If im honest the only reason I took the job I have now is for money. So I want to apply for a few jobs that I really want to do and that match my qualifications etc. Will I put my current job on my Cv or will a potential employer find it strange that after only 4 weeks I am looking for a new job and might I be considered untrustworthy? Thanks!

They're going to find you even more unstrustworthy if you don't mention your current job and then they find out about it at a later date.

Won't there be some kind of tax trail in any case? I expect your documents for PAYE will give some kind of indication or hint that you have already been working this year....

There is a way around this you can ask revenue to contact the employer directly i think . You dont have to give the p 45 you get.
You could ask revenue about detail
In any case in big company whoever you give the p45 to ( perhasp a few weeks later) may not be connecetd to the recruitmnet process but the alternative of not giving p 45 is safer.

I'd only put relevant work experience on a CV I was giving a company.

During the interview you'll be asked what you're doing at the moment, tell them you're doing some temporary work for your current employer to pay the bills but it doesn't align with your career goals so you're there to try and find something which does. Your P60 isn't going to give any details as to the length of time you'd agreed to stay with your current employer, only the length of time you have stayed there.

You'll get some kudos for not sitting on your arse claiming dole whilst job-hunting, for being the sort of person who can handle grunt work when it's necessary.

I think in the current climate any potential employer would understand. If you're C.V. demonstrates that your are over qualified for your current job a future employer who has a job more relevant to your qualifications will not think you are untrustworthy. In fact I think it shows initiative to take a job rather than going on the dole until such time as you get a job more suitable to your qualifications. I have been a recruiter in some previous jobs and recruitment is also a part of my current job. I certainly wouldn't think less of you for applying for a job with more prospects than your current one no matter how long (or short) you have been employed.
