    Hey folks,

As title suggests, I ain't got a notion! (However, I like to think that I do, SHHH!)

So anyways, I am the proud driver of a Citron C4 1.6 Hdi Carvan. I *heart* it.

Never had an ounce of trouble out of it apart from it sounding a teensy bit "tractor-y" lately. This morning, switched her on and heard a loud beep plus the words "Antipollution Fault" flashing on the dash. Grand. At the same time, the engine light comes on and doesn't go away.

I checked the oil (I THINK!) and the oil level is grand.

I am bringing it to a garage tomorrow however I said I'd post on here to see if any petrol-heads (or diesel, rather) might have any ideas as to what the feck this is, and if it's going to cost me an arm and a leg to fix.

Cheers for reading (if you got this far!)

    Laura

Most likely the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) that is blocked or on the way out. If you drive the car at low speeds on short journeys the burnt diesel builds up and clogs the system, this is likely what is wrong, dealer will know better once he inspects.

Here's one on ebay for £210, I'd say an Irish price and dealer original part would be more like €350-€400, then maybe another €100 to fit, worst case scenario maybe €500 job.

It may be possible though to fix your own or there may be a seperate issue, hard to tell really until it's looked at.

If its the 90 bhp it won't have a dpf..only the 110bhp has a dpf.
the depol fault is basically an engine light and could be anything related to the engine e.g. maf sensor..injectors...egr valve...the list goes on.
Get the fault codes and post them up here and we'll have a look...:)

right... fault codes... do I press two buttons at once and fault codes appear?! lol!

I'll get it checked tomorrow. I have to make a very important 25 km trip tomorrow, is it safe to make that trip do you reckon?

Is the engine in limp mode..?? (not reving over 3000 rpms)
If your oil and coolent levels are o.k. then i'd say it should be safe enough
    to make the trip....:)
