Ryanair have announced today that from next monday they are adding €2 per booking. They blame the EU for forcing them to pay compensation for delayed/cancelled flights in the future. They are claiming they lost €100m in compansation and lost revenue over the ash cloud last year.:(

Shame but ya can't blame them really. Stupid EU laws need an overhaul.

Absolutely agreed but for the EU to force an airline to pay for food and accomodation for pax stranded by events which have nothing to do with the airline is nuts. The consumer will always pay in the end, M o'L is just being upfront about it and highlighting the ridiculousness of the ruling. Other airlines will simply hide it in the ticket price. I'm definitely not an FR fan (I refuse to fly them) but I'm afraid I'm with M o'L on this one.
