    Hi all,

I'm 30 now and although I have reasonably clear skin, I've got slightly enlarged pores around my nose area, an oily T zone and some beginner wrinkles on forhead around eyes (which I can't stop looking at )

Apart from wearing factor 30 every day (and factor 50 on sunny days!), can you please recommend a non-heavy day moisturiser which will firm up my skin a little and help combat some of these wrinkles? I don't mind spending a little more than normal but not going to Creme de Mer lengths :p

    Thanks a million :D

You should be using an eye cream -- just a tiny amount, you dont want to overloading the area, its delicate.

Without seeing your skin, its hard to give an accurate recommendation, but the skin smoothing cream from dermalogica is what I use (Im 22) to keep my wrinkles and premature aging at bay.

Also : What is your skin care routine like?

    How oily is the t-zone?
Do you use a night cream?
    Regular facials?

I got the most amazing serum at the weekend - it is something short of a miracle. It is a serum from Chanel (bought it in BTs). Called hydra serum. Its about e70. You will notice a difference immediately. You can wear it under your normal moisturiser. You cant use it around the eyes though.

For your eyes, most of it, I believe is genetic. So you could just be predisposed. But a good eye cream could sort you out. I have the elizabeth arden one at the mo, it is quite hydrating.

I used to use Dior the whole time and I will say I loved the hydraction serum, BUT while Dior are amazing at makeup, theyre not so much at skincare.

For the same or even less price, you'd be better off getting your skin mapped by a professional, each area analysised and go from there.

I will say though, I do agree with the above poster. It feels really good on, Im just not condfidant that its entirely effective. And I know with how much dior charges, they would want to be effective.

i have a fair few lines and the usual symptoms of passing 30 on my skin and i have to say this serum is wonderful.

I tried the hydra stuff but i think its for hydration only and while i need hydration i also need anti ageing as i'm no longer in my twenties, so one essential is a fab product for me. I could get away with a lot more when i was 20, i used to only use wipes and e45!!!

I guess with dior you're also paying for the service as well as the product, i get invited to product launches, get samples and magazines in the post, and get free makeovers and fthe odd facial so i get a LOT more than just a thank you please come again lol!!!

btw i bought into all the creme de la mer hype and it really didn't live up to my expectations so i would not recommend that at all...

also i tried the skin mapping thing in a salon and i personally found it a rip off. The beauty therapist seemed to just use it to flog products at me. She told me i had oily skin when i know i have dry, plus its dehydrated but she told me hydration wasn't the problem. And kept trying to sell me dermalogica stuff for oily skin. When i asked 'for a friend' if they had the set for dry skin as i was leaving she said no. So i felt she was just trying to sell me what they had and not what i really needed for my skin. I'm wondering if anyone else has had good experiences on boards with mapping and if so where did you go

I had a really good experience with the face-mapping but it was done on both occasions by dermalogica reps. Its outrageous that they treated you like that -- but don't let a bad therapist put you off an amazing product.

Ask for samples -- they have got them. Don't just buy what they recommend.

Ps - If you have dry skin (how dry is it?) ask for a sample of the daily microfoliant and a sample of super-rich repair (if its very dry), if its just a little dry, prematurely aging and or dehydrated, try the skin smoothing cream. Also, try the essential cleansing solution.

If they wont give testers, dont buy from them.

Thanks all for the replies :)

About my skin care routine, I cleanse every night with MD Formulations glycolic cleanser which I have to say is amazing - it keeps my skin clear and clean without drying it out. I also use Witch Hazel and Rose water toner in the morning (chemist brand) - sunscreen and then whatever moisturiser is within reach :)

I was reading those reviews of that Dior Serum! Seems pretty conclusive ... though I'm a bit sceptical about getting value for money. Do you really think you get what you pay for? I had a look on ebay and there are plenty of bottles up there, I might try to get a very small bottle or maybe even a tester.

    Thanks again :)

the little tubes are samples, the bottle with the pump is the actual product. the serum usede to be 105, and it was reduced to 85.50 and now they have a large size as well for 115. Yes i 110% believe i get what i pay for here. Its the most amazing skincare product i've ever used and i've tried lots of things all across the price ranges, stopping short of surgery or botox lol!

Go to your local counter and ask for a sample or for it to be tried on your face so you can see for yourself. If you buy it as well ask to be put on the vip list, they give you a card, then you will get invited to the events etc which is really good
