Help needed for a device to work on a Ipad

    Hi All

I work for a rehabilitation clinic based in Waterford and have patient that has no use in his arms and he controls everything by use of a mouth stick. This person is looking at getting a Ipad and a touch screen mobile phone. I have tried adapting his mouth stick to use on the touch screen but with no success i have even tried making a prosthetic finger mounted on a stick but this still does not work. From what i have gathered to use a touch screen it works on static running through your finger (not sure if this information is right).

Is there anyone who can shed more light on this or would be willing to design some device that works on a touch screen.

Any more information would help me out.

    Cheers.

    Mick

$2.45 will buy you an ipad pen stylus that will work fine.

    Hi Mick,
Your correct in saying that an ipad relies on the static from your finger tips to function. I was looking at stylus's on ebay and the likes there a minute ago and all carry the static from your fingertips. I'm unsure what kind of static is generated by the mouth but my guess is you'll need a stylus that can generate its own static. I reckon that a wacom bamboo stylus would be something similar to what your looking for, although I could be wrong about the static generated by the mouth. If the mouth generates enough static its easy make a stylus I'll give both a test as soon as I can and tell you how I get on.
