Has anyone driven the new A6 yet. I am contemplating the 3.0 TDI S-Line. I have a 2010 A4 at the moment.

What model A4? Personally I'd prefer an Msport 530d but can see the tax advantages with the new 3 litre A6.

I have the 2.0 TDI 170 BHP sline. It has all the extras from new. I like the BMW as well but I am a Audi man since I started driving.

Has it been released yet? I thought it was April 2nd or something.

Probably Bodhan or Completecarguy would be your best bet.

My local dealer seems to be fobbing me off for some reason on the delivery dates.

Sounds like he's not getting them on delivery day and doesn't want you going elsewhere.

It's not unusual for delivery dates to be "fuzzy" for the first batch of cars delivered of a new model.

I'm sure your dealer is hedging his bets because he doesn't want to give a specific date that he can't stand over and that might leave you p1ssed off.

My thoughts would be that any dealer who guarantees you a delivery date for a new A6 is either taking a chance or has you buying a car that's already in the country.

Considering how much BMW have reportedly dumbed down the driving experience of the latest 5 series, you're not really missing out on anything by going for the A6. Get the six cylinder 3.0 diesel though, they've somehow managed to make it get into VRT band B - in fact it is so efficient it produces the same CO2 as an automatic 520d but is obviously more powerful and will be a more pleasant driving experience with its six cylinders:).

If I were buying an A6, I'd want the more powerful 3.0 TDI with quattro, but there are a lot of good reasons to get the regular 3.0 TDI as well.

Evan Burt banned (again) for shilling.

Thread closed - move along, nothing to see here...
