Petrol I don't know for sure, but I go up and down each week and it currently costs me ABOUT 35 euro for the round trip in diesel. The car is doing around 49mpg.

It would nearly be as cheap to travel on the bus!

I do it in my 1.9TDI Passat for around €35 depending on where i buy my diesel, getting about 48-50 mpg at the moment so well happy with that.

It always was cheaper to travel by bus than by car.. No insurance,no tax, no petrol.

Problem in mayo there is not much of a bus service so you really need a car

Pretty much 80 in petrol, though i did a bit of driving around aswell. Luckily enough im starting a new job in 2 weeks and get a company car so no more paying for trips to see the in laws :)

We would probably still have to pay the 10 departure fee :D

Westport to Athlone town centre via Cloonfad & Roscommon; on to Dublin city centre (O'Connell Street); back via Mullingar, with some driving in and around the town; a short detour out the N17 near Charlestown; then back to Westport. €59 all in - not too shabby for a 2-litre petrol.

I think it cost me about 60. Mayo to Dublin's southside.
