    Hi all

I'm having big problems with my hair. It is constantly greasy, even straight after washing it.
I'm in my mid 20's and wash it every second day now. I used to get away with just twice a week :(
I have used baby shampoo, greasy hair shampoo, every day shampoo etc etc. I always use shampoo that is clear so I know it doesn't have silicone.

Nothing seems to shift it! I used to have long hair but now it is mid length.
    Help!!

I have the same problems as you OP and I use the John Freida shampoo.

I have heard moroccan oil is meant to be good for greasy hair, but I have never used it myself so I don't know for sure. I don't understand how an oil can be good for greasy hair.:o

I have had people tell me not to wash my hair for a x amount days/weeks and I have tried it, but it got so greasy, I just had to wash it, it was disgusting walking around with a big greasy head tbh.:(

I found the t-gel shampoo for greasy hair and found it good, but then it wasn't as good as it used to be, but that could be because I used it every time I washed my hair and maybe my hair became used to it so it didn't have the same effect, I don't know.

What hair products do you use OP? Hair straighteners hairspray mousse ...?
Have you started eating a lot of greasy foods?

If nothing from the above questions you could try a masque or vinegar or lemon type rinse

    .

I've heard this one many times! And tbh it's true as the more stimulation your scalp gets, the more the oil glands secrete but my situation is crazy. My hair is still greasy when I blow dry it!

I found the green Herbal Essences good, I think it's called fresh balance. Had to wash my hair every day but when I started using this I got away with twice a week. I'm not sure whether it has silicone in it or not...

Yeah, my hair becomes greasy the day after I wash it, so I don't even get 24hrs without having greasy hair.

I couldn't imagine what it's like for you, having greasy hair straight after washing/blow-drying!:( Must be awful for you!

I do use straightners but not too much. I don't use serum or anything as it makes it worse and I only use conditioner on the ends.

My diet isn't very greasy. And my skin is fine too.

Tell me more about this lemon juice thing...?

I think this might do it

    plain white should be fine
Diluted lemon juice is recommended also
Don't shove it on your scalp though, excess oil is usually from lack of moisture - try a dry scalp shampoo?

It's pretty crap tbh. When drying it, it's the underneath that is greasy and it will be greasy all over the next morning.

I really do wash it all over very well. Just don't get it :(

Greasy hair can be caused by stress too.

Maybe you should try something completely natural on you hair. Lush products are really good and have lots of different shampoos for different hair types.
You could try this one http://www.lush.co.uk/shop/product/product/path/147_149/id/1033/hair-liquid-shampoo-antiphilitron
They're a bit more expensive than most shampoos but definitely worth it!

My hair is exactly the same.

If i have a shower in the evening, it will be greasy the next morning!
    Im used to it now..

I use the dry shampoo spray if it gets too bad and I just dont have the time in the morning to wash it!

Does that not make it worse long term?

Dry shampoo is great as a quick fix so long as you wash your hair later that day. But if I were to use it I'd make a massive hole in the ozone with the amount I'd need!

It prob dries your hair out in the long run.

I have greasy hair too, i find some shampoos make it a million times worse, can't touch dove or pantene shampoos! have to wash it everyday or it just feels ick

The only thing i can suggest is to maybe take omega3 supplements, they're good for your hair in general as far as i know.

Also i've recently found herbal essences uplifting volume shampoo (it's in an orange bottle), which i find great, it says its for fine/normal hair but mine is thick and fairly greasy and i find it makes mine really fluffy and soft and it keeps it feeling "lighter" and less greasy longer.

I know you said you were alergic to another herbal essences shampoo, but maybe it was something in that type rather than the brand?

There used to be a 'naked' brand shampoo in a white bottle, used to get it in boots but i havent seen it in a while that i found good aswell..

Also when you're washing your hair don't rub your scalp in circular motions, i remember a hairdresser telling me years ago to try and avoid stimulating your scalp as much as you can just barely rub in the shampoo aas lightly as you can, and the obvious not touching your hair with your hands when drying it/brushing/combing it...

ohhh and if your using the same hairbrush/comb all the time wash it with shampoo frequently because it will accumulate grease from your hair and transfer it back onto your hair when you brush/comb it.

Try putting the shampoo on while your hair is still dry, then rinse it and shampoo again. I find that really good for when I use oil treatments in my hair, so it might help a little in getting the oil out.
