Saw this jet, as I presume in the Aer Lingus colours in Bordeaux on Sunday, she was there again today but had moved location. Is it new or one being scrapped?

As far as I know it being there for some time. It was meant to undergo some maintenance but I think while it was there it was decided that there's no point in pumping more money into it as was giving a lot of trouble.

EDIT: That info was taking from Post 17 in the ORD thread.

It's the plain green one at the left of the picture. Generally when planes are being sold on or scrapped the logos are removed. The same thng happens when some planes crash the logos are painted over afap. Was watching crash investigations on Nat Geo yesterday, it was about an SAS MD80 that crashed on take off. Plane broke into 3 parts everyone got out, but any film footage taken the day or two after the crash all the SAS logos were gone.

Yeah,it's been a longstanding 'tradition' to paint over Airline logos following a crash. Airlines don't want their brand damaged by the sight of their corporate logo lying amongst a smouldering wreck.

Bit silly though considering that this thing called the ''media'' exist.

It was just obvious when I was waiting to board my Aer Lingus flight to Dublin from Bordeaux on Sunday, that in the distance I could see this jet in typical Aer Lingus colour. I knew the Logo had been either removed/not yet painted on. It was fairly obvious without the logo which airline it belonged to just from the green paint which is so unique to Aer Lingus.

I did see 2 New Thai Airways jets park nearby. I think they have even been there since before Christmas. Apparently they have been waiting for seats to be fitted inside.

Bordeaux is a fairly small airport, but with Airbus nearby in Toulouse, it does stand out when you see other jets besides the usual regular KLM, Air France, BA and easyjet about. Its also not to unusual to parts of A380's engines wingsbeing floated down the nearby Garonne River towards Toulouse.

Sabena do Maintenance there, Id say there does be lots of odd carriers there regularly. :)

I taught the wing and Elevators of the other plane were stripes on the A330 which i then taught was a different plane lol. Mildly thick tonight (i was trying to get a dvd menu up on a VHS tape earlier lol)

The colour scheme would be obivious to the likes o f the people on this board but I'm willing to bet the vast majority of people would not recognise an AL aircraft unless AL was written on it.
