Block Shed with Tiled/Pitched Roof

    Evening All,

I am aware of the building restrictions/planning exemptions for a class C structure as per http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/2001/en/si/0600.html#sched2. However, I just have one question - does the 4M height restriction apply from the foundation (to the highest point) of the new structure or is it from the foundation of the house? I ask as my garden would be about 2FT higher than the foundation of my house.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

the height is usually assumed as the distance from the highest point (ridge) to ground level (or what id consider path level in this case)

Its definitely not from the foundations.

Its ground level alright .Foundations can be all different levels depending on the ground condition .

Thanks guys. The builder is almost finished the shed and the total height would be no more than a fraction over 3M from its own foundations. Even taking the garden height into consideration I knew I was still within 4M but just wanted to clarify (the exterior boundary is 21' x 12' using a 9" block btw).
