Well its a bit of a tough price range there, but anyway.

Here are some mp5's, which are a nice light gun but the only thing is that single mags are limited to 200 rounds.
    CYMA MP5-J Sliding Stock
    http://seairsoft.net/product_details.php?id=1128&sub=2&subcat=Sub%20Machine%20Gun
    JG MP5 A4 Solid Stock
    http://seairsoft.net/product_details.php?id=730&sub=2&subcat=Sub%20Machine%20Gun
These two here are similar with the JG available with the sliding stock too.

    Or for a little more:
    JG G36C
    http://seairsoft.net/product_details.php?id=157&sub=4&subcat=Assault%20Rifle
This gun here is a pretty good option but its a matter of taste, it is however a very good starting gun as they tend to be very reliable and are the choice of some sites as their rental guns!

I myself cannot speak for the MP5's above as I have never used them unfortunately :(.

If you are just starting don't forget you'll need a face mask too. If you haven't gone or had the chance to use some guns you should try them out first, if you see someone at a site with a nice gun don't be afraid to ask to see it (we like talking about our guns :p)

And when you find one you like find one for yourself and you'll be a lot happier than if you just buy one that "looks" nice but you don't like the feel of it

The JG MP5's are great. I have the A4 myself. A bit light, but if you don't mind that it's all good.

Your budget is restricting you a lot. :)

If i was to strech my budget to near 200 wat cud i get. It might be worth the wait. And i also hav a face mask as i hav had 1 aeg previously
    Thanks

The mah is in short, how long the battery will last.

The voltage (8.4v) is what you need. 9.6v will give you a greater rate of fire but reduce the life span of your AEG.

I also recommend you get a smart charger.

I think i might stick with the battery included but will change it after as i think it is hard to fit batterys in the g36c. Also, so u dont hav to hav the same mAh? Still not sure:confused::confused: Sorry if im a bit newbie but thanks to everyone for the info
    Thanks:D

You can get a higher mah if you want. Higher mah = long lasting battery :)

    To define batteries for airsoft:

Voltage dictatates rate of fire, and trigger response.
Higher voltage, = lower trigger lag, (fast response) and faster firing, due to more voltage turning the motor. As said, higher can reduce lifetime of parts, but upgrade parts can be got that are tough enough to survive it. Most can take a 9.6 fairly well..
Mah: size of battery life... More mah... lasts longer, I belive, its Milli amp hours. Thus, 1400mah, will last less than 2000.

Rule of thumb, is 1mah = one BB.

Batteries come in different sizes. Mini, Stick, large for NIMH batteries, the standard of airsoft.

Stick batteries are all cells in line, good for AKs, where the compartment is long and thin. or Sigs...

Minis are common, and fit most guns, even those that take large batteries. Usually slightly less MAH than a large due to cell size and capacity.

Large batteries fit in gun stocks usually, and are mahoosive. And you can get upto 3000/4000mah ones.

Lithium Polymer batteries are far smaller than most NIMH ones, due to the technology. Though for example, you can get LIPOs the size of an 8.4 volt large battery.... running a massive 4300 mah, Ideal for support guns!

The voltages differ for those, a 7.4 lipo will give you the rate of fire of a 9.6 nimh, but with far far reduced lag. (its electronics voodoo)
11.1volt lipos, have the rate of fire of a 12v nimh... and are quite possibly the most wearing batteries for aegs. If upgraded, they can take them, though they will wear your guns parts out very fast.

Best compromise, is a 9.6 nimh, or a 7.4 lipo, I personally run a combo of 8.4 minis, for some guns, and 7.4 lipos for most. Guns with microswitch triggers are far happier with lipos out of the box, due to the contact arangement, they corode the copper contacs very fast in regular trigger assemblies, which in time, means gun no shooty.

That seems a little on the low side, I've seen plenty of people get 4-5000 rounds from 1400mAh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

4000 from a 1400 seems horifically high... You're right, you can tweak more, but when using auto.... 1 mah = 1 bb on semi auto I should have clarified. Automatic uses less power to keep it turning, so it extends a bit more.... 4000 that really Suprises me though. I'd put the figure near 2000 at a push to be honest, 1400 mah batteries just dont have the juice for that much from what I've seen. Even high end ones.
