iPad Garageband drum question

bought garageband - very powerful, really polished and not expensive considering what you are getting.

I have one minor gripe with it and I don't know if it is a problem with the app or my iPad touch screen.

When I open the drum kit that you can play yourself - I get different levels of sound from the bass, snare and toms when I hit the screen. I am aware of the following two things:
    1. That how hard you hit the drums depends on how loud the resulting sound is and..
    2. In certain parts of the drum, there are different sounds depending on where you hit it (eg, snare and hi-hat)
I have taken this into account and I still do not get consistent sounds...is anyone else having this problem?

Just to confirm, I am having no other problems regarding the iPad screen so it does point to either an issue with me or the app itself.

Other than this I love it..

    Cheers all..

I think it just comes down to the fact that an accelerometer will never be as accurate as a pressure sensitive touch screen.
