Sevilla or Cadiz?

Hoping for a little help.

Holiday for 2 weeks in Spain:

• 3 nights Barcelona
• 3 nights Valencia
• 3 nights Madrid

Was going to go to Sevilla for the last 5 nights but having trouble finding a good hotel. Usual story of every hotel having very mixed reviews on the likes of tripadvisor/booking.com etc.

The other option would be to spend the time in Cadiz nearer the coast and drive to Sevilla/Cordoba etc from there.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I've been in Sevilla before, for work, and I'm not sure if it's a good base in June for 5 nights holiday?? Or does anyone know anything about Cadiz and whether it'd be a good spot to go to instead?

Seville x 100, purely because I didn't take to Cadiz at all. Much more to see and do in Seville. If you haven't booked already try the Alcantara - www.hotelalcantara.net . Good location in Barrio Santa Cruz and nice rooms. Don't miss the flamenco show in the theatre next door. Don't know why I didn't take to Cadiz - place was a bit creepy at night I thougt. Plus we got ripped off in a couple of restaurants and the people weren't that friendly. There's a very nice beach within walking distance of the town called something like Playa Victoria.

If 5 nights in Seville is too long you could always do a day trip to Cordoba on the AVE train, or do a day trip to Cadiz by train also (think it takes about 2.5 hours).

if you're in sevilla for 5 days, i'd recommend 1/2 nights in Granada. a beautiful city, lovely to walk around in - free tapas!!! at least it was when i was there 2 years ago. you can see snow on the sierra navada mountain tops around as well. train takes 3 hrs from sevilla.

also Granada has the Alhambra - a beautiful Moorish palace built around 14th century.

you should book your tickets online in advance and you can collect them at the entrance from a ticket vending machine
