Annual Irish Rail Smart Card - Tag on?

    I picked up my new Annual Irish Rail Smart Card today. Does anyone know if I can exit a station without tagging on? Using the old card, you could exit without any issues if you didn't enter your card at your boarding station (at mine, they are always broken). So interested to find out if I fail to Tag On, will I be able to Exit a station without causing any issues.

    You will normally need to present the card to exit. With an annual ticket, as it is always valid, I don't think it checks if you tagged in.

    What station always has broken equipment?

    Annual tickets don't need to be tagged on to allow you to tag off.
