I would like to buy someone (a Russian native) a bottle of vodka as a present.
Can anyone recommend what, and where to buy in Dublin?

    Thanks.

    Smirnoff. Tesco.

Really tho... go to a large independent off licence. They would be quite knowledgeable about liquor and where each comes from.

Anything but Russian, or fake Russian, then. Skyy?

People seem to rate Russian Standard.

Picture the look on your face if a Russian, in Russia, presented you with a bottle of Guinness.

    True.
Maybe a bottle of Vodka isn't such a good idea, generally.
(the picture of the patronising face on me is too much)

How about some Irish whiskey or Bailey's type drink.
Or that 'Legal Poteen' might appeal to a vodka drinker.

I agree, get him Poteen (which would be similar enough to vodka) or a nice irish whisky ( I recommend Redbreast)

You can get those as well as a good selection of vodka in the CelticWhisky Shop on Dawson street.

theres a russian shop off oconnell street in dublin where im sure you can get the good stuff. Dont get the brands that most irish people know.

Stlichnia and russian standard are seen by a lot of Russians to be a bland only for export vodka.
My advice would be Altai Siberian Vodka.
    that or Belalco

Grey Goose Vodka - it's French but it's a really lovely vodka - much nicer than any mentioned thus far.
    Available in Tescos etc.

    prices here.....

actually just tried this -very good stuff and a bargain at €15. makes Grey Goose look a bit over-priced.

although OP would agree with the others - why not get a present of something Irish - like whisky - Bushmills is good (yes it's from Nordieland but it's really good!).
