With all the talk of "RD" being retired and broken up I started to wonder where "SG" is now. Last I heard she was being used as an instructional airframe a few years back

Just spotted this thread now.

I was involved in the project to scrap and cut up the aircraft in early 1996.

We spent about 4 months doing the job.
About 3+ months to remove all the rotable/serialised parts that had commercial value and those parts were sent to workshops to be made serviceable again.

Easy to cut the fuselage but very tough cutting the wings.

Her sister aircraft, EI-ASF, who was in a worse state was made serviceable and flew again.
