There was a great turnout last summer for informal softball games over at the Charlesland Sport & Recreation Park.

FYI, "Softball" is a mixed, recreational version of baseball, also similar to rounders. Just to make it interesting, the ball that you hit (with a bat) is not actually soft - but it's a larger ball that travels a little slower than a baseball when hit or thrown.

All men and women over the age of 18 are welcome!
The group will form a team and join Softball Ireland's league with training and games on Monday nights.
Open day training sessions are Monday the 4th of April & Thursday 7th April 6.30- 7.30 at the Charlesland Recreational Center.
Feel free to join us on the 4th or the 7th to get an idea of what is involved and see if you fancy a summer of fun and team spirit .

Please feel free to contact me by PM, or email: softballgreystones@gmail.com if you have any questions or need more information.

No experience is needed - just the willingness to throw a ball, catch a ball, run short distances, and whack a ball with a baseball bat as hard as you can! Good fun.

Full Season registration fees are as follows:
€50.00 registration includes €10 sports insurance for the entire season plus minimal match fees.
    €40.00 for unemployed or students.
Full season is 16 games plus play-offs.

Just to let anyone that may be interested, we will be going ahead with the softball open day this evening regardless of weather. Although a bit blustery this morning it needs to be truly desperate to call off softball. Just remember all that you need is a pair of runners comfortable clothes and a willingness to have fun.

Softball is a mixed sport and we would like to strongly encourage any women who would like to see what its about to come to the Charlesland Sports Center either tonight or Thursday evening.
