Which PC?

Both seem nice & sleek for home use. I haven't used a full-size touch screen PC (other than my PDA), and wonder how a transition from keyboard would look like but I'm sure I would like it.

My biggest focus is always the processor and memory. And the reasonable price, of course. I care less about the card reader (that can be plugged in externally for a few Euros) or huge hard drive (again, an external one can fill in any extra storage needs).

You might also think of space on your desk. The second one takes less space. I kepp my comp on my living room table (no separate desk!), so it's a notebook as it can be moved around quickly or even taken with me when travelling. Did you consider (touchscreen?) notebooks, as well?

    Hi Nutgrover,

We've got a laptop in the house already but my wife would prefer a PC in the office room so that she can use that when shes working in there. There isnt a huge amount of space where we want to put it but either one would fit in pretty well. It seems like the Acer one may be better value for money.

Looks like we may not be going with DID now for the Acer. Price has jumped up to 799! Pity I didnt take a screenshot of the original price.

That would be a rip-off. It's interesting that prices of PCs have been falling steadily throughout the naughties but now seem to stop at the €600+ level.

As for shops, I find Harvey Norman having reasonable prices for 'consumer electronics'. Plus, you can bargain!

I know. I work near them here in Galway so will call in on my way home and see what they have on offer. Definitely not spending over 600 on a PC for the house when we already have a laptop.
