Ireland detailed import / export data?

Hey, I'm looking into targetting good items to import/export to/from Ireland, but I cant find real granular level data anywhere - does anyone know/have ideas where to find this (I assume its free from somewhere with the freedom of information act)?

For example I can find up-to-date monthly totals in euros of imports and exports by sector quite easily, but down to the individual product/commodity level I havent been able to find...

Is there some online database with this somewhere?

    KatoAfrica,

I am having the same problems and I am looking to set up some kind of business importing products to Ireland. I was curious to know had you stumbled across any further information?

No luck, I suppose it might be an option calling up one of the departments, maybe Irish Exporters Association as well...

Another way is to find data through other countries databases...so for example I found this India government site. You can search this to see really detailed (commodity code level - HS codes), exports to Ireland from India and visa-versa. It orders the data either as USD value or by quantities...

You could probably contact the customs office, there is probably data on customs tax which people paid for bringing items into the country, these are all varied according to particular codes.

Thanks Guys for all of that information. I'll look into these leads and see if I can get the information I'm looking for.

    Regards

    Edward
