simple steps help you to make a beautiful lantern

    You must have ever seen many beautiful lanterns hanged on the trees and the house. But have you ever wanted to make a lantern by yourself? Actually it is not very difficult to make a lantern without machine but by our own hands. Now let's see some simple steps to make a lantern:

    The first step: make a lantern frame first
    For the paper lanterns, there are two simple shapes one is cube another is cylinder. While the best choice for making a frame of the paper lantern is to choose a bamboo or a bamboo skin to bend them into a framework. Pay attention to the link where you should convergence it with thin secured.

    If you don't have the filament, a long and thin strip cardboard or a bamboo sticks which is used for barbecue are also can instead of the filament. Although it is not so tight and lack of flexibility, it can be a very good interior decoration in your home.

    The second step: make the lantern body
    Go to buy a few white, red papers or ordinary rice paper or the rice paper with some golden powder on the surface in the stationery shop. Then, cut the paper into the same length and width of the lantern skeleton line. After that you can make any designs or patterns on the small lantern.

    Calligraphy, painting, paper cutting, all designs you can imagine you can paint or draw on the surface of the lantern. After paste, it will look more elegant, and much like the old-style lanterns if you can use a piece of narrow paper which is looks like the satin trim under the two edges. If you are not very good at painting, there is a simple way to make it.

    That is use a copybook with a piece of tissue paper putting on the desired description or painting you like, then put this tissue and the deep red rice paper get together, after that dig the descriptions away with a single edge razor blade.

    When removing the tissue paper away, you will see the descriptions or paintings will appear on the red paper. In addition, use the white rice paper to make the lamp body will be very beautiful since the candlelight or light shine through the white rice paper out from the red rice paper hollow.

    The third step is to create light
    If you want to put the lantern in the house, you just need to light up a candle inside the lantern. But if you want to bring the lantern outside you'd better make a simple circuit diagram with light bulb and battery circuit.
