    Hi.
I bought a house in 2008 and wont be going anywhere for a long time. I would love to build a garage/workshop on the side of the house but the problem is this would mean the kitchen window would look into the room. The missus is not one bit happy with that idea :)
The extension would be the length of the house 10m long and 3m wide with a pitched roof. To compromise i would install a number of velux windows into the pitched roof.
Could anyone tell me how much light the velux would let in? If i were to install say 3 windows would that allow sufficient light to penetrate to the kitchen?
The kitchen window is east facing.
    Thanks in advance.

3 velux windows will let in a massive amount of light, and when the sun is out,get the sunglasses on.

I have 2 large 1 x 1 meter velux windows over my kitchen and the extra light they let in is unreal.

really makes it a nice place to be and relax.
