It's only now when I need to go to bed, that I finally begin to wake up.

In the even that you can't get naughty with someone do the following:
Go for a brisk walk/ jog. Have a hot bath & drink a few glasses of red wine fast.
If that doesn't make you sleepy then nothing will.

Why am I more tired than usual the morning after an early night?

I find the best way to fall asleep is to lie awake all night tossing and turning until it's almost time to get up for work.
I sleep like a baby for about an hour after this.....

I know I should go to sleep because I will be wrecked in the morning and I know I will be called at least once by a child during the night, I should really close down AH, but its nice to end the day with a little giggle:D

Circadian rhythm disruption is a bitch.

Here's what I've tried and it works (most of the time):

Install f.lux on your computer, it's a free program that reduces the blue light coming from your computer screen when it's dark. Blue light wakes you up as the natural signal of daylight.

Bought a natural dawn alarm clock with a 10,000 lux bulb. Took a few weeks to kick in but it's the gentlest way to wake up.

Magnesium spray oil, they sell it in healthfood shops. Really relaxes you and makes you sleepy. Itches a bit but you get used to it.

This one is weird but standing on one leg. Just do it on each leg until exhausted a couple of times a day. It really works for some odd reason, could be total placebo effect but who cares if it's harmless to try out.

Yup. Shattered all day, now wide awake. Pain in the box.

Don't try to fight it. My sleeping routine has been ****ed for at least a year now. 4 hours sleep will do. Not healthy I know, but staying up all night and most of the day has advantages. Namely, you can get more **** done. Especially during the night, when it's quiet.

I blame the clock change, if you stayed out late at night and got no sleep you would be grand.. but when they organise en mass the loss of one whole hour then we are all knackered for a week after!:pac:

That lost hr at the weekend has me fooked up sleepwise to :pac:

Don't fantasise when you lie down to sleep, and I don't mean sexually... obviously that's a bad idea. just stare ahead and try to think about nothing.
