Hi, I am currently changing my phone and I still have a good bit of credit on my sim card. As I am changing networks I need to get rid of my credit. I was surprised to find the lack of Irish Charities that offer this service.

Anyone know any charities that I could donate to via text?:)

I think most charities only use the text donation service during a major appeal like with Haiti.
A quick google found these two but they're on a weekly or monthly subscription type basis:

Give it to a chugger, they can use the credit to inquire about proper jobs and you will feel good having taken them off the street. I would even consider contributing to this initiative myself.

Hi, you can donate €2 to Special Olympics Ireland by texting DONATE to 57252.

The money raised goes to help with the costs of sending 126 Special Olympics athletes to the Special Olympics World Games in Athens this summer.

Just be careful of which charities you decide to donate to. Many of them are staffed by a CEO or MD on a six figure salary, and who spend the vast majority of donations received on staff costs. They aren't all this way, but there is a thriving "charity" industry in Ireland at the moment, many of them doing little more than keeping small groups of families in secure employment, and allowing their CEO to spend some valuable time keeping his golf handicap in single figures on some of the finest courses in India.

    Hello all,

I need some number that you text something like "4euro" that will donate €4 to a charity.

It's needed so I can tell naive people that texting "4euro" will get them €4, but they'll just get a message back saying "Thanks for donating €4 to X charity" :pac:

    Google for "new-text-donation-service-benefit-irish-charities"
and it should give you a link to the wheel website.

The wheel-dot-ie gives site gives the txt number to send the charity codeword/KEYWORD to.

    Also Google for "api likecharity"
which will take you to the KEYWORDS page
to get a list of charities and the codeword/KEYWORD to send in the txt.

God bless you for your donation.
