I want to combine my saorview and old upc analogue signal (which upc very kindly left me with after I cancelled the contract) into the
one antenna input on the back of the telly.
There are a couple channels on upc analogue not available on freesat such as sky1 and nickalodion.
    Is this combination possible?

The only way I see this working is if you switch between normal analogue channels and HDMI input or however you are receiving freesat.

Also you mention saorview do you want to have freesat-saorview-analogue UPC? In which case you will need a combo box.

UPC use the lower end of UHF and VHF for their analogue signal. Depends on where you are, but if DTT is high up in the UHF, a diplexer may allow you to combine both in the one cable into the TV. Try TVtrade.ie, I think they do something that might work.

What channel is the DTT on?

No I don't want to have to switch between av inputs if possible. There is an annoying time delay doing this. I just want to use the channel up and down buttons on the remote to switch between the saorview and analogue channels.

I'd rather not have to get another box for this either.

Channel 54. What's a diplexer? Just a simple method of physically combining cables or is it something with electronics in it?

Would the broadcasts from Three Rock use the same frequencies as the channels on UPC digital in Dublin?

    yes they do.
There are also VHF on UPC. A Diplexer will block the UPC UHF (mostly Digital and Modem signals) and let the VHF through.

It is passive, it does not require power.
The link above has a diplexer type that is OK for Dublin cable and DTT
