First & foremost I need 2 new front tyres size 215/45/17

Just contacted one tyre place near me, got quoted e70 per tyre for a brand named Zeetex or around e45 per tyre for partly worn high grade tyres...

Question or query I have is has anyone ever heard of the name Zeetex? I'm guessing they are a budget range tyre. I've never had to buy tyres before so this is all new to me its like looking into a hedge
Lots of people recommend to get the partly worn tyres....(which I dont like the sound of 'partly' anything tbh) as these tyres would be of higher quality, but how can this be if they are already worn..?

Ok ok bottom line is if I was to pay an extra 20 or 30 euros per tyre would it be beneficial to me or are all tyre qualities the same?

    Thanks lads!

Everyone has their own opinion, but whenever I buy tyres for my car I spend the extra few quid on them. They're your only contact with the road surface :)

OP if you want to save a few quid and get good rubber may I recommend you investigate dropping the tyre size to 205/45 R17 if possible. Ask the tyre fitters and they will be able to tell you

I done it recently on my Passat, went from 215/55 R16 to 205/55 R16. The correct tyre was €150 but I only paid €95. The smaller size tyre was fitted to the originally. As I got Bridgestones fitted the grip is very good and has more than compensated for the small change in size.

I also enquired with the mechanic who said it was perfectly safe to do and it is something that is often offered to people

You can buy something like these Falkens for not much more:

They are a decent mid range tyre and alot better than some of the Far East crap on sale these days. Budget in around €50/€60 extra to have them fitted and balanced. Also ring around a few other tyres centres as they can compete with online prices too these days.
